Somehow I missed any and every email from Love with Food this month. I didn’t know my box had shipped and I didn’t even know the theme! I think it made it even more fun when the box finally came.
Not familiar with Love with Food? Love with Food is a monthly snack box. Each month they send a mixture of organic, all-natural, healthy snacks for you to try. They offer two options. A Taster box (10/month), which includes 1 of every snack in that month’s theme box. They also offer a double box (17.99/month) Which includes two of each snack offered that month. Love with Food also donates 1 meal to a child in need per box shipped. (2 for a deluxe) They now offer a gluten free snack box which includes 8-12 snacks for 25 dollars a month.
Love with Food ships out on the 10th of each month and takes anywhere from 5-10 days to get to me.
Recently, Love with Food switched up their info card and it’s far more detailed now. What used to just list the products, now includes descriptions, ingredients, info on GMO/Organic/Natural status, AND a few recipes. The theme this month is spice up your life and includes snacks and foods to help you kick it up a notch!
Lemon Rosemary Seasoning by Fogg City Spice Co
This is an organic and gluten free spice blend that is said to be good with everyday recipes for vegetables and chicken. I think I’ll use it on potatoes tonight. But, I was surprised to see a seasoning mix in a snack box, however, it does fit the theme!
Hemp Rules Roasted Hemp Seeds by Ziggy Marley Organics
I’ve heard these are good added into smoothies and sprinkled on top of cereal as they are a great source of protein. But again, not so much a snack. Does anyone eat these plain like a snack? Maybe that’s the point. I don’t know.
Maruso Ghost Soy Sauce by Maruso
At first, I just thought it was a packet of soy sauce and I was a little disappointed. Then I read that it’s a ghost pepper soy sauce and now I’m waiting for C to find a recipe so we can use this.
Rich Chocolate Cookie Thins by Mandy’s
Finally! A true snack in the snack box! I’m a big fan of thin cookies, plus, who doesn’t like chocolate?
5 Spice caramels by Shotwell Candy Co
These caramels are made with a hint of cinnamon, star anise, anise seed, ginger, and cloves. Not my thing, so I’ll let C test them.
Simply So Sweet Chili Tortilla Chips by Way Better Snacks
These were a little spicy, but super tasty. The grains and seeds in these chips are also sprouted, which, according to Love with Food, is supposed to help your body better absorb the nutrients.
Churro Kettle Corn by Love with Food
For some reason, without reading the name and just seeing SPICE in big letters, I was expecting this to be a savory, spicy popcorn. But it’s not. It’s a sweet, cinnamon sugar popcorn.
Green Superfood by Amazing Grass
I think we got a sample of this in a Bulu Box a million years ago. This will probably end up where ever that one did. Maybe I’ll make a smoothie and remember to use this one day. Maybe.
Overall, this wasn’t a bad box, everything in the box fit the theme perfectly. However, I’ll stop short at calling this one a snack box, which is what Love with Food claims to be. It’s sort of a bummer when more than half of the box is food/spices that you add to or sprinkle on other foods. That being said, we’ll still use the products.
