November Loot Crate: Battle

C’s Loot Crate actually showed up the day before Thanksgiving, but then Thanksgiving happened! And then I had a few new SD card issues, blah blah blah. Back to work!

Not familiar with Loot Crate? They are a monthly geek/gamer subscription box. For 13.37 a month + S&H, Loot Crate sends you 6-8 items a month that fit their geeky theme. Sometimes items are Loot Crate exclusives, awesome t-shirts, or some variety of other fun stuff.

Last month, C was one of the first to get his box, this month, probably one of the last. They ship in waves, clearly with no rhyme or reason. The boxes ship out of CA and take about 4-5 days to get here.

I knew the theme of this month’s Loot Crate, but somehow, I forgot to peek. I really wasn’t sure what would be included, although they do make it known when they include a shirt so you can adjust sizing accordingly.

The theme this month is Battle. The Loot Crate info card is usually more of a magazine, which is kinda cool. The art on the front is always unique. This month they also created a shipping box that will fold down into a playscape for your battles. How funny!

There were instructions to “cut here,” “tape this,” and “Fold on this line.” I don’t think I’ve seen another subscription box go THIS far. It’s super impressive.

Assassin’s Creed Unity Collector’s Coin (Loot Crate Exclusive): 9.99.

I was told this is a video game that just came out. It’s a cool collector’s piece and comes in a little red bag.

Pirates Vs. Ninja T shirt: 12.

They did a similar design for the Zelda box awhile back. I couldn’t get a good photo of it, but it’s half ninja and half pirate. It suits everyone’s needs!

Street Fighter Headband: 2.99

Hmm..I think at least one item a month is something that appears to be geared more toward kids. This is no exception. We’ve come to expect it out of Loot Crate, but would much rather see the item be a tad more useful than a tacky red headband. Oh well, I’ll make C wear it to the gym. ;-)

Mega Block Halo: 5.99

When I did a price search of this, I was surprised to find that there is an entire set of Halo Mega Bloks. I don’t play the game, but I really had no idea. This one is small, I couldn’t tell you anything special about it.

Megaman Mini Helmet Replica: 15.

This came in one of 4 colors. C got grey. The other options were red, green, and of course, blue.

Digital Content and pin

As always, Loot Crate includes a pin to commemorate the theme of each month’s box. Sometimes they also include codes for special downloads.

Overall this Loot Crate had a total value of around 45 dollars. A few prices were estimated because they are Loot Crate exclusives. C was pretty happy with this box, and I thought the box itself with the street fighting scene was super cool. I hope they continue to do that for future crates.
